To ensure compliance with the legislative requirements on record keeping on the used materials and traceability till the patient you can use the barcodes of the packing, respectively the stickers enclosed to the dental implants.

If such are not available anymore, the providers of practical application, billing and accounting software usually offer a barcode scanner interface.

All codes of the materials used will be scanned directly after the surgery and accordingly saved in the patient’s file by the respective program, thereby evading the cumbersome writing down or sticking of the code stickers in the patient file and also any eventual scribal or transfer errors.

The data can also be used for electronic stock keeping and enterprise resource planning – you scan the incoming goods and also the outward stock movement, i.e. the products used for a surgery.  As soon as you exceed i.e. reach the minimum stock level set by you, the applied program will prepare order information or even a completed order –fax message, by indicating therein all necessary product identification numbers or will even send an automatic e-mail.
